Seismic performance of MR steel frames via Incremental Dynamic Analysis

چکیده

The Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) represents a promising design approach to assess the performance and post-earthquake load carrying capacity of steel frames. Generally, only maximum transient inter-story drift is considered as damage intensity measure (DM), when IDA carried out. In Authors' opinion, better appraise all aspects characterizing state structures, additional DMs should be considered, like residual drift, low-cycle fatigue (LCF) damage, whose quantitative evaluation currently neglected in seismic provisions. presented paper deals with Moment-Resisting (MR) frames for which structural evaluated via IDA. particular, four multi-story differing beam-to-columns connections have been considered. aforementioned at specific correspondent level Immediate Occupancy, Life Safety Pre-Collapse. Research outcomes underline how information obtained from proposed provide more accurate prediction MR frames, respect one assessed especially quantify.
